I travelled to Iceland in the winter and was struck by its raw and grand beauty.  The dramatic landscapes, rugged mountain ranges, lakes and waterfalls. The treeless moors covered with vegetation carpets interspersed with bog land. The skies and early sunsets and dawns were awe-inspiring – the lighting. I wanted to paint the sensation of what I felt, seeing the spectacle unfold before me.
